Manresa signs Max Sandul

After signing Ruslan Otverchenko earlier this summer, Manresa added another Ukrainian on Saturday.

Max Sandul, 24, is a power forward/center who spent the last six seasons with BC Kiev. Last year, he put up 12.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.

As you can see in the video above, Sandul is an excellent passer who should fit nicely alongside the team’s offensive weapons.

Manresa has built an intriguing team this summer:

  • Ibon Navarro (head coach)
  • Ruslan Otverchenko (flashy combo guard)
  • Jermaine Thomas (scoring point guard)
  • Ricky Sánchez (shooting 7-footer, cult Draft pick)
  • Román Montañez (veteran leader)

Add them to lights-out Lithuanian shooter Marius Grigonis and Manresa could be a sneaky good team this season.

Manresa reportedly wants Juan García

According to Chema de Lucas of Gigantes, Manresa also wants to add power forward Juan García on loan from Zaragoza.

Garcia, who played for the Dominican Republic at the PanAm Games, joined Zaragoza in the spring after a successful run in the LEB Oro. He made three appearances for the club during a 10-week stint on the roster.

The 26-year-old averaged 11.4 points and 6.8 rebounds in the LEB Oro.

Luka Doncic trains with T-Wolves shooting coach

Slovenian phenom Luka Doncic has been working out with renowned shooting coach Mike Penberthy in California.

Doncic, who turned 16 in February, is one of the most promising young players in the world.

He dominated the European youth circuit last year. He posted a triple-double in the Spanish U18 Championship game and earned MVP honors at the ANGT in May after leading Real Madrid to the title.

Doncic will be a full-time member of Real’s first team next season.
