After months of uncertainty following a disastrous sale to an American ownership group, Spain-based CaixaBank has stepped in to save Baloncesto Sevilla from dissolution.

The long-term future is still uncertain. The hope is new (and competent) owners will emerge at some point during the next 12 months to take over. If that doesn’t happen, we will be back at square one:

But for at least one more season, there will be ACB basketball in Sevilla. The club can now focus on filling out its depleted roster, which includes just four players: Nikola Radicevic, Pierre Oriola, Max Salash and Diego Gallardo.

Murcia signs another Brazilian

After Augusto Lima and Raul Neto led Murcia to the highest win total in club history, the team has once again dipped into the Brazilian talent pool.

Vitor Benite, a crafty shooting guard with a love for fadeaway threes, is the newest member of Murcia’s backcourt.

Raul Neto gets some Amin Elhassan love

Speaking of Neto, the former Murcia point guard now has a huge opportunity with the Utah Jazz. Unfortunately, that’s because of a potentially devastating injury to Dante Exum, but an opportunity is an opportunity nonetheless.

On the always excellent Lowe Post podcast, ESPN’s resident #HateHard king Amin Elhassan said he thinks Neto will be Utah’s starting point guard by the end of the season.

Elhassan’s scouting report is spot-on.

But thanks to his creativity and natural playmaking ability, Utah’s scorers will love playing with the Brazilian Jason Williams.
