The Portland Trail Blazers selected Daní Díez with the 54th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
Díez, who turned 22 in April, is a 6’8″ small forward. He shot 41.4 percent from three this season and finished fourth in the ACB in rebounding (6.8 per game).
Díez will be a draft-and-stash player, and it’s possible he never makes the jump to the NBA.
Díez doesn’t have NBA athleticism or physical measurements (6’5″ wingspan), but he is a smart and active player. He played for Gipuzkoa this season, on loan from Real Madrid. It’s unclear which ACB team he will play for in 2015-16.
